Proctologist Aaron B. Parrish, MD specializes in minimally invasive colon and rectal surgery. This includes laparoscopic, robotic, and transanal minimally invasive surgery (TAMIS). Dr. Parrish trained at Cedars-Sinai where he perfected these techniques. In addition, he received his DaVinci Robotic certification at that time. These techniques can be applied to surgery for colon and rectal cancer, diverticular disease, inflammatory bowel disease, and pelvic floor disorders such as rectal prolapse and obstructed defecation.
In addition to minimally invasive surgery, Dr. Parrish also performs surgery for anorectal diseases such as anal fissure, abscess, and fistula, hemorrhoids and tags, local excision of polyps, and early cancers.
Dr. Parrish performs colonoscopies for screening and diagnostic purposes (bleeding, change in bowel habits, abdominal pain, diarrhea). Endoscopic procedures include polypectomy, biopsies, tattoo injection, clipping, and precise evaluation of pathology prior to surgery.
